The main goal about multiple profiles is that your brother, sister and kids can also create their own profiles without you needing to buy extra copies of the game to the same household. It would feel quite ackward if you are penalized from playing in the same team with your brother and kids. For example our CEO and his 2 little kids are playing in the same team...
I agree with you. Multiple profiles played by same player should not be able to attend same team. Or better yet, should not be able to attend the high score table at all. The multiple profile funtionality is there to allow other players in your household to play the game, not to allow single player to play the game with multiple profiles. In the original Trials 2, someone bought 2 copies of the game, and now there are 8 profiles in top of many easy track high score lists named [PROFILENAME]0, [PROFILENAME]1, [PROFILENAME]3, [PROFILENAME]4, [PROFILENAME]5, etc. We are quite lucky that our current top players (mrT, JukkaN, etc) are not that self centered to create 4 profiles (mrT1, mrT2, mrT3, mrT4) and flood the top of each track high score lists. But I pretty much expect this to happen sooner or later, as the player population exploded with the Steam release, and most of the Steam players are still learning to play the game. Some of these players will eventually reach the top 5 (only around 20% of the players are old players right now), and lets see what kind of problems we see then.
