I just put it up in the first post. :)
Edit: I cropped the image a bit so it wouldn't stretch the page.

I haven't read The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy, but doesn't it end without the people ever finding the answer, or something?

"Don't panic!" was on the cover of the book, wasn't it. So, that picture features space, Trials, and the book...

I haven't actually read the book either, but i love the movie (don't hate me). I'm pretty sure they get the answer, but they just don't understand it.

Just noticed that the rider is in some sort of a bathrobe, and that Don't Panic is his towel... What does it mean?!

He's just ready to go into his intergalactic sauna.

Quote:
Ford handed the book to Arthur.

"What is it?" asked Arthur.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It's a sort of electronic book. It tells you everything you need to know about anything. That's its job."

Arthur turned it over nervously in his hands.

"I like the cover," he said. "'Don't Panic.' It's the first helpful or intelligible thing anybody's said to me all day."

also:
Quote:
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy has a few things to say on the subject of towels.
A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitch hiker can have. Partly it has great practical value — you can wrap it around you for warmth as you bound across the cold moons of Jaglan Beta; you can lie on it on the brilliant marble‐sanded beaches of Santraginus Ⅴ, inhaling the heady sea vapours; you can sleep under it beneath the stars which shine so redly on the desert world of Kakrafoon; use it to sail a mini raft down the slow heavy river Moth; wet it for use in hand‐to‐hand‐combat; wrap it round your head to ward off noxious fumes or to avoid the gaze of the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal (a mindbogglingly stupid animal, it assumes that if you can't see it, it can't see you — daft as a bush, but very ravenous); you can wave your towel in emergencies as a distress signal, and of course dry yourself off with it if it still seems to be clean enough.
More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: nonhitchhiker) discovers that a hitchhiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, washcloth, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet-weather gear, space suit etc., etc. Furthermore, the strag will then happily lend the hitchhiker any of these or a dozen other items that the hitchhiker might have accidentally "lost.". What the strag will think is that any man that can hitch the length and breadth of the Galaxy, ruff it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through and still know where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

It follows the hitchhickers story: the maincharacter gets drawn into space after just awakening, still wearing his bathrobe.

The story goes that the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything is found: that answer is 42! Only problem is that no one bothered to ask what the question is. Having an answer they cant use, they decided to invent a question that fits the answer.

Not sure how I feel about the riddle being answered tomorrow, two possibilities I see:

1. Someone actually solved it, but sent the solution in to RedLynx directly, instead of posting it on the messageboards or on the Wiki. The video will reveal the solution, as well as the solver, and how she went about solving it.

2. The riddle has not been solved, but Redlynx doesn't want to leave the mystery from TrialsHD dangling when everyone should be focused on Trials Evo coming out shortly. The discussion on the messageboards and wiki represents the furthest anyone has come in producing a solution.

If the scenario is (1), then I would applaud the solver, and be glad to finally hear the answer. The riddle "succeeded", in that it was difficult enough that it took over 2 years to solve, but not so difficult that it couldn't be done.

If it was (2), however, I think I'd consider the riddle a "failure". A mystery so difficult that it can't be solved isn't any fun, nor does it accomplish its original purpose.

Think of a trail of cryptic notes left by a man for his girlfriend -- if they are so hard to follow that she gets stuck on the first or second clue, then she'll never reach the final destination: the cafe where they first met. Now he waits in vain for her, her favorite meal slowly growing cold, the chilled champagne slowly getting warm, his hand reaching again into his pocket to ensure the diamond ring is still there. Is this her failure that she couldn't follow the clues? Or his?

Not entirely accurate.

The super computer that came up with the asnwer (42) said it would take a much more powerful computer to come up with the question. This is where the Earth was made by Slartibartfarst and his mates, only to have the "Telephone sanitisers" crash land on Earth and thus corrupt the program. And they had about 2000 years or so before the Earth would be destroyed to make way for the hyperspace bypass.
